Bored and a little down...

I'm SO bored right now. I'm posting this from work - and at 9pm the last person left, leaving me the only person from then till I get off at 11. I've got an hour and 45 min left. Ugh.

Yeah, and I'm just a little down today - but I won't explain why. Just pray, ok? Thanks :)

Oh, and I've finally begun contacting schools and bookstores to plan and schedule some appearances for Bryan Davis in Lynchburg, and hopefully a DIOM party as well, all of which will, Lord willing, take place this fall :D I'm excited - I just hope I do everything right and all that fun stuff.

So anyways - time to go back to being bored ... I do have a book to read, but just can't get my mind into it while I'm on the clock. Yak at y'all later :)

Sorry that you're down, I am praying. And I understand boredom. It's been slow at the store for a while now. :-p

Hehe - I'm home now, and no longer bored!

I have to go back to work tomorrow, though. *sighs*

Geeze that bites like mosquitoes. I work on Saturdays too though, as you well know. ;)

That's the downside of a job outside of home. You aren't your own boss so you can't just get your work done and leave, then move on to other things.

That's why, though I'm thankful to have secured a position at the camera store, I'm hoping I will not need it for too long. I'd prefer being out doing photography and writing! (:

Yeah - I'd much rather be out doing horse stuff and writing. But ... I have to work. <_<

Ah, but being out somewhere is how writers find stories. . .the whole "I wonder" and "What if. . "

I don't get story ideas at my job. Trust me.

What about driving to or from your work, or however it is that you commute? :-D got to be something somewhere to glean ideas from.

It takes only ten minutes to get to work.

I don't know where to glean ideas from - I haven't figured that out yet...

I betcha you'll ''find yourself in the middle of a story'' when you relax and write at that little cafe' they can be great places for people watching. Malls too. Especially at the food courts. I love to go and get a soda and sit and read my latest book-purchase and people watch at the food court. :-D

I love book stores and libraries...though the thrill may wear off after working there.

I'm applying for a grant for writing (guess that would be a "writing grant") :)

You may want to check it out where you live. It enables you to stay home and write. Here in NB, we can get up to 7,000$ for new writers and more if you've already published.

Nope, Lady Eve, it doesn't. I can't tell you how many times I've gone from work to another bookstore and stayed and puttered and prowled the shelves or sat down at a little table somewhere and written on whatever paper I have with me. :-D Of course my coworkers think I'm balmy but hey, they aren't writers.

A writing grant? Interesting.... That would help pay for rent for an apartment, among a few other expenses, and help me devote my paycheck to paying of my debts, and it would force me to write more. I'll have to look into that.
