New Blog Template

Well, as I mentioned in the previous post, Even Nielson (Quest Writer) had given me the Rockin' Girl Blogger award, and as my prize she offered a free blog template. He told her what I wanted, and she provided this absolutely beautiful template. Isn't Eve fabulous?! I absolutely love it!!

My Blog is Rockin'! Huzzah!

Eve (Quest Writer) just awarded me the Rockin' Girl Blogger award! I'm so stoked, so close to my birthday, very cool. Soon I shall be toting a new blog template from her.

In the meantime, I would like to nominate a few others for this award as well!

The Daily Ramblings of a Legossi!

The Musings of Roh!

For your prize I offer to make either a banner for your websites or forums, an avatar, profile pic, or some sort of photo collage. Email me at iluvhorses1(at)gmail(dot)com. I'll need to know:

1) What pictures you would like to be used (either email them to me, or give me the links).
2) What color scheme you prefer, if any.
3) Any text you want on it - whether it be a quote or a username.
4) What size you want it to be (in pixels).

Congratulations, my friends. You rock!

Writing .... tee hee hee

Here I am in my favorite Restaurant in Lynchburg, the V & T Cafe and Grill. I love this place. The owners are awesome, the food is great, and it's such a cute little restaurant. It's a great place to go. If you ever visit Lynchburg, I suggest coming here to eat (but let me know that you're here too so I can go with you to eat!!).

Not to mention I've gotten a lot of work done in the last couple of hours on my story. I'm actually rewriting a story of mine, and I just finished adding about 3 pages to the original version, now it's time to tie that all in with the rest that I already had, editing it to fit with the new stuff. I'm so excited - I might actually have this story finished soon. So far it's my favorite of the stories I've written. I hope that it will be under 5,000 words, because the e-zine I want to submit it to doesn't like taking short stories that are more than 5,000 words long.

Anyway's - back to work! Amari's about to be given a decision to make, one that will change her life forever, as well the lives of her friends. She needs to choose wisely, because if she doesn't, there will be dire consequences.

Stay tuned!

Richard H. Wolters

You know - I realized something recently. All this time that I spend supporting my favorite authors, and I haven't done so for my own father yet. Shame on me. Bad, bad Connie.

I would like to recommend the Alex Conklin Adventures by Richard H. Wolters. The first book is titled Alex and the Kitten Monster. This is a Christian series.

Alex and The Kitten Monster is a thrilling adventure that keeps you on the edge of your seat! A roller coaster ride of mystery and suspense!

Alex and his friends are told a creepy story that makes no sense, but scares the pants off them. What apparently started with the malicious drowning of a neighbor's kitten, has grown into a spine-tingling tale of the kitten's survival and the horror of it growing into a monster cat that lives in the swampy waters of the local sandpit.

However, Alex's friends (and his parents) don't believe this horrifying story is true. Alex, on the other hand, figures out that there really is a monster. But no one believes him, even after the mysterious disappearance of a dog and one of the local boys. Not realizing that he could become the monster's next meal, Alex goes to the sandpit at night with nothing more than his camera. He is determined to get a picture of this kitten monster to prove that he is right. He ends up riding a roller coaster of mystery, suspense, and terror as Alex faces the most horrifying experience of his young life.

This book is short, but it still very good. The sequel is written, but hasn't been published yet. He has been using a self publisher (blech...). I need to speak with him about trying to find a new publisher ... seriously. The self publisher does no marketing whatsoever. You can find the books on, here.

It says there's only one left in stock, but that's because they are printed as they are ordered, so ... yeah. He needs a new publisher. *pokes Daddy*

Oh, and the author bio on the page hasn't been updated in a long time. My dad is now retired, and my mom died about 3 and a half years ago....

Man are they hard to find - especially the criteria I'm searching for.

I need the rent to be under $500 (preferably between $350 and $400 - and my dad's gonna pay the rent for the first few months). I need for it to be in a nice neighborhood, especially since I work at night, I come home late. I also need a place that accepts pets because in a couple of months my supervisor will be giving me her cat's kitten (just born about 3 days ago!!!!). Finding that combination is like finding a needle in a haystack. The only place I can find so far that fits the price range and pet needs, I keep getting conflicting ideas about the neighborhood. I have friends that live there now who say it's great, other people have told me it's not a safe place to live. Honestly, I'm inclined to believe my friends who live there now - they wouldn't lie to me. And besides, I'd be near them as well. So - I'll probably look there first.

There's another place that one of my co-workers live at, and I've heard their pricing is pretty reasonable. So, I'm going to look there as well. I don't know if they allow pets, though....

I'd really appreciate it if y'all could pray for me about this. I've been wanting a place of my own for a REALLY long time (about 3 years) and it hasn't happened yet, and I really really need for it to happen. Please pray that the Lord gives me wisdom, as well as the funds, to do this. Thanks :)
