Blog Changes/Prizes Received

Hello again everyone!  I have quite a few things to tell y'all about and I'm not sure I'll cover it all in this post.

First off, Amanda is almost finished with my blog design and it looks WONDERFUL!  Be on the lookout for it, as it should go live sometime this weekend.  I'm SO excited about it and can't wait to see it when it's all finished!

Also, I'm really starting to think about moving my posts about modesty and modest outfits to this blog.  I dunno...  What do y'all think?  Should I leave them at Pais Charos Creations?  Or move them here?

The other day I received my other prizes from Jessica at *Faith WITH Actions* from the 7-Day Challenge she hosted on her blog.  See them in all their glory here:

In this photo: A card Jessica made that basically says that I participated in the first ever 7-Day Challenge and it has a note from her on the back; five friendship bracelets for me and some of my friends; a devotional book; the Do Something banner from www.dosomething.org.  Nifty, huh?  The bracelets are really cute.  I also donated a prize which I intend to put in the mail to the prize winner once I get off the computer, haha.

Tagged - Pure in Heart Award!

Hello everyone!  Ileigh at A Certain Slant of Light awarded me with this nifty award!  Check out her blog, her family is doing some cool stuff soon!

If you are tagged:
1. Post about the tag.
2. Pick 6 bloggers who deserve this award.
3. Leave a comment on the blogs of the people you tagged letting them know they were awarded.
4. Answer the questions along with your post. (Omit questions you don't want to answer - I'm all for simplicity!)

1: Apples, Oranges or Bananas? I love all three but I'd have to go with oranges.  I don't get nearly enough of them :)

2: How many siblings do you have? Two biological siblings, 1 brother and 1 sister.  I have a lot of friends who I've adopted as brothers and sisters, though.

3: How old are you? I'll be 29 in a week.

4: Do you live on a prairie, woodland, swamp, city or other? Uhm...other?  It's not a city like New York or Boston, more like a suburb.  I live in an apartment so no prairie or woodland, I'm afraid.

5: Scissors or glue? Haha, seeing as I'm a sewer/quilter, I'll go with scissors.

6: Describe your dream house.  Hmm.  My dream house is one in which I live with my husband and children (when I get married, of course).  It would need to be big enough for all of us, certainly.  I'd love to have a big porch that we can sit out on in the mornings and/or evenings.  A fireplace with a mantle for cold winter nights.

7: Is your room clean? Uhmmm, sort of?  Maybe?  A little teeny bit?  It's not a disaster area, but it does need to be vacuumed and dusted in here...

8: If you could be a movie character for a day, who would you be? Oh boy, who would I be.  I think I'll have to go with .... *thinks* Atreyu from The Neverending Story.  Yes, I know he's a boy, but come on .. he has a horse AND a luck dragon.

9: Italy, Greece, France, Spain or England? Definitely either England or Italy.

10: What denomination are you? Kinda sorta non-denominational, heh.

11: Do you sleep with a stuffed toy (BE HONEST!)? You BET I do!  ZEBRA!!!!

12: Gum, chocolate, or jelly beans? I can't choose, I have to go with "all of the above."

13: What is your favorite book? Just one?!  You're kidding right?  Here we go: All the Dragons in our Midst books, all the Oracles of Fire books, the Echoes from the Edge trilogy, "Starlighter", "I Know Why the Angels Dance" (all of those by Bryan Davis), "By Darkness Hid" by Jill Williamson, "Black Beauty" by Anna Sewell, all the Chronicles of Narnia (I think you know the author for those)...just to name a few.

14: Favorite ice cream flavor? I'll have to go with Mint Chocolate Chip (or whatever variation) and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

15: If you had to eat one type of food for two weeks, what would that food be? Potatoes or pasta.

16: What is your favorite Olympic sport? Figure Skating

17: Describe yourself in three words. Christian, Crazy, Creative (yay for alliteration!)

18: What chore do you hate? Laundry :/

19: If Elmo came into your room with a gun, what would you do?  . . . Um . . .

Okay, the ones I've decided to tag are:

Marie - Marie Loves
Emily - Emily's Cancer Blog
Jessica -  *Faith WITH Actions*
Levi - Hearts Ablaze (even a guy can be pure in heart :-) )
Nicole - The God Files
HolyPure - Forsaken Armor - HolyPure

Updates/blog re-design

A few updates.  Looks like the week got away from me and I didn't finish the 30-day Challenge in 30 days.  I still plan on posting the days I missed eventually, so stay tuned for that :)

Also, for anyone who wishes to know, I'm picking up my car TOMORROW!  I'm SO excited!  I'll finally have my own vehicle again!  I'll be paying the owners $650 up front, then pay $50/month till it's all paid (making it a total of $1,000), which shouldn't take too long.  I'll post some pictures here tomorrow evening when I get the car, and I'll tell y'all more about the car when I do.

Also, my blog will be receiving a makeover, woohoo!  Be on the lookout for it!  One of the prizes I won during the 7-Day Challenge at *Faith WITH Actions* is a custom blog design from Amanda at Farmgirl Writes.  I can't wait to see it when she's done!

That's all for now!

Crazyness

Hi all!  I know it's been a while since I've posted, and I'm sorry.  I've had a crazy week and have not had any time to blog.  Now I'm stranded at the house as the battery died in the truck I've been driving and has been towed since jumping it didn't work.  So, I find myself with some extra time at the moment.  I'm tired, and I'm hot, and I'm stressed, but God is still in control and I know He'll take care of me.

I recently participated in a 7-Day Challenge at *Faith WITH Actions* . It's over now and it's time to vote for the grand prize winner.  Please take the time, if you will, to read through the entries for the last 7 days and vote for either myself or Rosie using the poll in the sidebar on the right.

And I know I'm behind on my 30 Day Challenge, but I'm gonna do my best to catch back up ... starting in the next post :P  See ya then!

Day 21 - Something I know I do differently than most people

Hehehehe....something I know I do differently than most people is put frosting on Ritz crackers.  Yes I do.  And I tell you what, it is one of the best snacks in the world.  I discovered it one day when I was looking for a snack and I still had half a container of chocolate frosting leftover from cupcakes.  I was trying to figure out what to have with it when I found a box of Ritz crackers in my cupboard.  I remembered a cookie thing a friend made that was basically chocolate covered ritz crackers and thought, hmmm....maybe this could work.  Oh my word.  Turned out to be amazing.  Then around Christmas time I was making Christmas cookies and made some homemade vanilla frosting.  THAT tastes good on Ritz crackers, too.

YUM!

Day 20 - A hobby of mine

Well today has been an interesting day, to say the least.  My phone hasn't been working for two weeks and after emailing AT&T twice, talking with them on live chat twice, I went to the AT&T Retail Store and the manager deduced that the phone is dead.  It's not receiving service at all, anywhere.  He said he's had people come in with the same phone having the same problem.  So he gave me a loaner for now and I'll go back on Monday so we can call the warranty people and have them send me a new phone.

Anyway, today's challenge is to post about a hobby of mine.  My main hobbies are reading, sewing, and crafting.  I bet no one could've guessed that, huh?!  :P

Well, my 1-year-old great nephew is begging for attention by pulling on my skirt and looking uber cute, so I'll sign off.

Days 18 and 19

Good morning everyone!  I'm here posting from my brother's house as I'm house sitting for a while.  They're in Germany visiting family.  Ah, how I miss Germany.  I hope I can go back some time...

Anyways, onto the challenges.  I missed yesterday so I'll do both yesterday's and today's in this post.

Day 18 - A time when I felt passionate and alive

Hmmm....I'm gonna have to say that any time I'm around horses is when I feel passionate and alive, I just love horses.  I can't afford to take riding lessons right now, though (haven't been able to for years, ick).  Maybe I can find someone else that needs someone to clean their horses' stalls.....hmmm...

Day 19 - A talent I have

I'm gonna go with singing for this one.  I've been singing all my life in choirs and have done several solos in churches.  I took lessons for the first time when I was 21 and had a blast, but then I moved and had to stop.  They're kinda expensive, too, though.  I don't plan on ever going professional or anything like that, I'm quite content to just sing for friends, family, and of course, God :)

Hope everyone has a blessed day!  Until next time!

Day 17 - An art piece

So today I'm supposed to post an art piece - but I'm not sure if it should be an art piece that I've made or one by someone else.  So I'm gonna post both.

An art piece I've done:

This is one of my favorites that I've done.  I did it for a friend who's horse had died.  I used a photo of her horse (I think I merged two photos actually...) and maniped it to look all pretty and stuff.  She really liked it, too :)

An art piece by someone else:

So I'm gonna be cheesy and post a Van Gogh piece, haha.  I never really paid much attention to his paintings until watching the recent Doctor Who episode where the Doctor and Amy go back in time to meet Vincent Van Gogh, and I fell in love with this one (you'd have to watch the episode to understand why).

I Write Like...

Haha, so I came across this interesting tool online, where you put in some of your writing and it "compares" it with that of famous authors and tells you who you "write like."

I put in my entire story "Amari's Love" and got:

I write like
Neil Gaiman
I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

My response: o_O

Then in put in what I've written so far of my story "Dark Alicorn" and got:

I write like
Neil Gaiman
I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

Okay ... seriously?

Let's try this again.

This time I put in the prologue for another story, working title is "Dunamai." And this is what I got:

I write like
Annie Rice
I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

I don't even know who that is!!

Very interesting.

Day 15 & 16 - A person I admire and A song that makes me cry

Well, yesterday was supposed to be someone I admire but I couldn't think of who to put down so I just didn't do it, but to keep from getting too behind I'll do it and today's both in this post.

Day 15:

A person I greatly admire is Susie Davis, Bryan Davis' wife.  She is the embodiment of a godly wife and mother.  She's patient and kind, and holds a vast amount of wisdom that I never tire learning from.  She loves and supports her husband and her children unendingly (including her "adopted" children, haha).  I believe everyone should have the opportunity to get to know her, because she is fantastic.

Day 16:

A song that makes me cry is "The Christmas Shoes" by Newsong.

Day 14 - A vacation I would like to take

Happy Sunday everyone!  I hope you all have a blessed Lord's Day!  I'm leaving soon to go play with the kiddies, yippee!!  Plans for today after church: read friend's story, attend online Bible study (I think), possibly finish my first re-fashion (will be posted on Pais Charos Creations when finished), and possibly crochet a new scarf.

So today's challenge - A vacation I would like to take.  Well...I love going on vacation to author Bryan Davis' home with his family, but aside from that I would love to visit Germany again.  I have pictures from my last trip to Germany when I was 16, but sadly the only ones scanned into the computer were the pictures of Falkor, haha.  Nothing else was scanned in, otherwise I'd show you some.  But when I was there we stayed in Munich for a week and I LOVED Munich.  Got to see the Glockenspiel, and visited Neuschwanstein Castle.  And many other things.  I'd love to do it all over again, and possibly visit other places as well.

I would also love to go on vacation to England and visit some of the places seen in Doctor Who, as well as some of the places written about in Bryan Davis' book "Circles of Seven."

Well, time to go!  See y'all later!
